The trees
Once naked and bare
Caused a death in me
An emptiness in my chest
A cold, hollow hole
Like a void of love
Now the trees seem to swell
With beauty and magic
With vibrancy
With the brightness of its leaves
Bringing life to my eyes again
With the branches swaying softly
In the gentle breeze
Moving me along with them
Back and forth
To their rhythm
With the sun’s rays resting on flowers
Warm and soft like a kiss
The same rays that illuminate my skin
And cause me to beam
And to glow
Birds sing songs
Of flight and freedom
Above my sun-kissed scalp
The frost has faded
On the trees and within
It has melted and left
Nothing but color and warmth
To bloom in its stead
Reaching a hand up
I feel I could grasp the sweet sun
Awake and strong again
And squeeze it gently
Once in my palm
In thanks for its returning glory
This spring

So lovely! You captured spring perfectly!
Yes, so glad Spring is here!
This was so optimistic and uplifting! Loved your poem!
This is perfect for Spring - a new awakening in people (you) and the world. Beautiful descriptions of the trees and flowers and colors. Sun-kissed scalp is nice - and this part is exquisite: Reaching a hand up I feel I could grasp the sweet sun Awake and strong again And squeeze it gently Once in my palm In thanks for its returning glory. 💓💕
