This Is Me

A Spoken Word

At first glance,

What am I?

Who do I appear to be?

The shy type?

A childish adult?

A loner?

Perhaps, do I look like a weeb?

Or a gamer?

I can be anything,

But I may be limited,

Based on my talents,

Or even my skill sets...

But one thing’s for sure,

I won’t change for anyone,

Except if it’s something,

That I want to do,

Changing for someone who is not me,

Is... cowardly...

Only I can control myself,

Only I can control my life...

Who cares if I sing out loud?

Who cares if I dance around?

Who cares if I watch anime?

Who cares if I play video games?

Who cares if I hang around the boys?

It doesn’t bother me,

This is just...

Who I am...

No one can change that about me,

And I will not be silenced,

Into being someone I am not!

I am not a makeup freak!

I am not a fashionista!

I am not a model!

I am me,

If you don’t like that,

Then you can disappear,

Out of my life....

Forever!

I don’t need people like you,

You slow me down,

You want me to suffer,

You enjoy the negative spotlight,

Of torturing someone,

You don’t know me personally,

So why do I bother you?

You don’t bother me,

So why do I bother you?
