Things in the morning light

I love these things in the morning light

I love these things in the morning light

The breeze shook like grass

A few sparrows, feeling the wind on a branch

I feel the dawn opening from the wooden window

Now the sun was shining through the dew and mist

A cluster of yellow chrysanthemums blooms against the hedgerow

Extending the shadow under the veins to the wall

I've been racing a ray of sunshine all morning

Over the low fall fence

Free yourself from the chaos of the world and books

Follow a drop of dew that soaks all things

Taste the bitterness of flowers and new leaves

Now, those leaves are chased by the years

Hide some green on the back of time

People and things coming and going in the morning light

Half to the day, half to the twilight

The rest of the sun, leaves, hopes, dreams...

On some bright days
