Love

The day we met, I had no clue, that you would be a thief,

but all these years its plain to see just what you stole from me.

First just time and moments, you’d walk by and steal my breath.

Then it was attention, your pull scared me half to death.

Slowly you consumed my thoughts, I couldn’t get enough.

You stole all my abilities - to stop thinking about us.

Then we’d steal away to spend a moment, in a kiss.

You stole my desire and my will, I needed more of this.

You snuck into my head, stole the secrets hidden there,

you persuaded me to give my heart, still completely unaware.

Of what that act would cost me, I'd never get that back.

You took it, with my hopes and dreams,

there was nothing you could not have.

You pocketed my faith and trust, my doubts, you took them too.

I didn’t see it coming, hopelessly taken with you.

You snatched my fears, took them away, my insecurities disappeared.

My loneliness and anxiousness, like they were never here.

My tears, heartache and emptiness - gone without a trace

You took my need to be alone, nabbed every single space.

There was nothing that you left untouched,

you lifted all I had.

You will forever have my heart,

I never want it back.
