The Whole of My Heart

Enveloped

By Karen LaRuePublished about a year ago 1 min read

The whole of my heart is enveloped

In what goes on in my mind

For it is that which is within me

That makes its way out

Through every little word and action

So I keep my thoughts pure

Not in the traditional American sense

Of non-sexual

That's honestly just weird when it comes to love

Because purity of heart and mind isn't about that

Those that teach and practice this outdated form of sexual purity

Often have the ugliest of hearts

And the insincerest of minds

Preferring an outward expression of virtue

To the inward honesty it takes

For a whole unfettered heart to experience freedom

For freedom comes with responsibility

And they often desire neither.

A wholeness of heart

Requires an honest that can be terrifying

For being honest with yourself it the most difficult honesty of all

But it is a beatiful one

And the path to sincere happiness

The path to freedom

The path to being able to dance through this life as yourself

And in that dance of freedom

It is your heart that will become pure and whole

For you will have nothing to hide

From yourself or from others

And this is the true purity that exists

In the most beautiful of humans
