The Type of Lonely

That heavy weight sitting right now in your chest is loneliness.

Not the type of lonely where you don’t have anyone to go to.

The type of lonely where even you’re surrounded by people that you know love you

Although they all feel like strangers

And you're an extraterrestrial being that they have stumbled across.

It feels forced.

Everything feels forced.

You’ve never really felt like you belonged

It’s not like you weren’t accepted

You were.

Although

The person that’s surfaced all those years

Was a façade of all our insecurities and anxieties?

You did not realise it back then,

How much weight you had on your shoulders

Feel that weight of loneliness because it’s only temporary.

This process is confronting and scary,

But we have to get through the bad to know the good.

Take this time, to find your yourself

Practise patience and forgiveness.

Its okay to feel those heavy weight in your chest

But do not welcome them home.
