She welcomes the change to her day,
Unexpected but what can she say?
Life is a spinning wheel of uncertainty,
The spice of life is her spontaneity.
**
Change is not to be feared,
In fact, it’s something to be revered,
She learned this lesson long ago,
And now she lets it be, goes with the flow.
**
Tomorrow is the time to worry about direction,
Because by then the change will be a deflection,
Life will unfold as it is foretold,
She’s well aware it’s more precious than gold.
**
Laughter is her goal, while the tears dry,
A hello much more preferable than a goodbye,
Love a blessing she welcomes into her heart,
Knowing it’ll sustain her when you are apart.
**
Solitude and peace is highly guarded,
Drama and anger is totally discarded,
Today is for joy, for happiness and her latest dream,
Where the only expression are smiles that beam.
**
When she closes her eyes on the day that ends,
She drifts off into sleep full of family and friends,
When she awakens once more on the morrow,
She’ll work on her happiness and push away her sorrow.

About the Creator
Colleen Millsteed
My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.
