The Third Day of Summer

Would you like to swap places?

3rd Day of Summer

Living on the bottom of the world

Means that this is the 3rd day of Summer

While most of you are pulling on your woollen beanies

And wrapping your scarves tightly around

Marvelling at the sparkling lights at pitch dark 5pm

I’m slick with sunscreen

And puffing around the holiday shops

Where tiny bikinis hang next to tinsel

And that elf on the shelf

Eternally grateful for the soothing wave

Of aircon.

I’m sorry but no matter how long I live here, wonderful though it is

Christmas isn’t Christmas

Just three days after the longest day!

Great poem. Being Canadian, I can't imagine a hot weather Christmas. I'll be ready to go come January, though. lol
