The Sun Shines

The sun shines brightly on the fields,

Tonight I am going to meet my family,

Having not seen them for some time,

I am happy that I do not have to spend another moment alone.

I walk through the fields of red sunlight,

The beautiful colour of love and care,

I take in the essence of the light that caresses my lips softly,

I smell the sweet aroma of togetherness that emanates from my family,

I have made it to the place known as home.

Home sweet home,

Home sweet love.

The family gathers for a moment or two,

We quickly swap stories of our lives since we last saw each other,

I sit in my father’s lap,

I feel secure and healthy,

We sit there together and watch the sunset,

The day comes to an end,

In the house, the sun winks and bids us goodbye,

The stars take his place and shine on us,

There is no light except the stars,

And the moon that gives light at night,

The moonlight shines over the field and reflects off my family,

I think to myself,

How beautiful the stars are at night,

How beautiful my family is..
