To look back on your fondest memory,

I'll wager it took place one summer's day,

The kind where the heat makes you feel weary,

But you can't conceive it going to waste.

-

The kind where love is like blossoms in bloom,

A scent that's thick and heavy in the air,

Where secrets are spilled under light of moon,

And heat of the day keeps skin warm that's bare.

-

The kind where you dare give your heart away,

Too caught up in lust to warrant caution,

To the boy who promised that he would stay,

Your belief an innocent distortion.

-

A summer dream of a love that was true,

In memory lives this image of you.
