The Sum of Me

...And I'm Unapologetic

I dislike waiting, long lines, and gas stations

I don't like green beans,

And the sun doesn't help me

Near as much as the rain.

Pain does not confound me

(Sometimes, I welcome it)

I'm more awake at night than

During the day

I pray

I work and I love to eat

I'm not a neat

person, but sometimes

In an obsessive compulsive

Attack of nerves

I will clean the house

Top to bottom.

I care about people, some of whom I've never met.

Sometimes I care too much

Sometimes I care to my detriment

I love driving fast with the radio turned up

Heavy metal, preferably

Or something slow, and sorrowful

powerful music moves me

and sometimes, a song will make me cry,

particularly if it's a particular one

I love tons of blankets and the A/C turned up frigid,

Laying in the dark and thinking, and thinking,

And sleeping. A lot.

I love new places and I love new food,

buying things and going to the movies

most of all, I love creating

a story or a poem or a piece of art.

Some people think they are halfway through with life,

or almost done.

I am ALWAYS at the start.

The sum of me.
