From perception to scorn
We let deception perform
Take the stage let out rage
Inhibition feels trapped in a cage
Life’s mistakes are universal
Wishing it was all only a dress rehearsal
From the womb until the grave
We all prepare to take the stage
Costumes to hide our secret fear
We laugh we cry we try to tame
The audience applauds the actors pain
From the time that we are born we are taught to perform
Life’s the illusion and the stage the norm
The episodes of our life go on and on
Fueled by passion and stoked by rage
Time for you to take the stage
