Some do say
It is the American way
To spend each day
Debating issues for pay
Ashes end up dust
In this world based on trust
Where I once arrived
Letting out a pediatric cry
After I was birthed
Finding my place on this mother’s earth
Scripted character giving
As a human living
Things suddenly turned bad
And made my parents sad
Inside the womb a physical assault
German Measles vaccinated and caught
But I was permanently hurt
From the biological sickness that threw the dirt
In my face
Such a disgrace
Crutches I used to walk
Speech was fine when I talk
Props in the end granted were two canes
No one to blame
Certainly not my mistake
This was the decision I did not make
Unlike the alternative behavior stand
Still trying to figure out ‘are you a woman or a man?’
Stimulating colorful spectacles and the show time stage
Theatrically welcomed inside their social cage
Promoting the rights war that is all the rage
Filled with mass market confusing
Entertaining, eye catching and innocently amusing
But I ask, ‘what was left?’
For General Public to decide when they ref
Understanding the need to wed
Enjoying the same sex interaction sharing a loving bed
Where deep emotional thoughts are said
And pondered in each other’s head
This brings happiness one cannot be declined
But keep this in the well heard rebellious mind
Some play a role alone in life
Not being casted opposite a husband or wife
Written in the preface to my reality book
There is a tragic plot for the reader to hook
And when they take a good hard look
At the conflict which was my mission
That could use someone’s ear to listen
About a plight
The internal fight
Where one morning I took a punch
And by lunch
Was getting an education
Fair protection
Knowing my bodily scar
Raising the bar
Guiding those searching for an answer
That comes in interpretive style like a message from a choreographed dancer
In closing I will respect you
And your needs which are true
But remember those who are alone
Chewing the information bone
Watching and learning
Feeling a little bit concerning
About their place here
And like everyone else wanting intimate cheer
Not wanting to see a moralistic jealous sneer
From someone they fear
Creating a partnership tear
Over that special wine glass or pint of beer
Where they both profess ‘I love you dear’
