Boy, what were you thinking when you did what you did?

Not fully grown, but now you have a kid.

What about your parents, boy, and the lessons they taught?

What happened to getting things together? Now your future seems shot.

I learned the way that you could be; that's why I stayed away.

Just think, that could've been my child you carried in Wednesday.

The way you walked in-pitiful-afraid for me to see,

Knowing now that after all you've said I know it could've been me.

Let's count back nine months and all of us will see,

The same time that she conceived, you chased hardest after me.
