See Your Potential
It's hard to see your talents when you're focused on those of others.
I wish I were more artistic, all I can do is write.
I could write about a stormy day or one that's shining bright.
But how I long to be a great and masterful musician
And produce a pretty melody and be a beat's physician.
How wonderful it would be to see a pretty view
And paint every detail from mountaintop to drop of dew.
Now, I can dance a little, and I can act a lot,
But let's face it, when it comes to arts, that's all I've got.
I have no hope of singing, I can't carry a tune.
So I guess I'll stick to writing about everything under the moon.
I wish I were more an athlete. All I can do is cheer.
I can do real daring stunts without a single fear.
But now I long to play a sport where I can be cheered for,
A sport where I can actually keep track of what's the score.
How wonderful it would be if I could play a sport
That didn't keep me on the bench but standing on the court.
Now, I run pretty fast, and sometimes I'm pretty strong,
But those things don't get you very far for very long.
I have no hope of winning: cheerleading doesn't earn you points.
But I guess I'll stick to cheering and stretching my joints.
About the Creator
Korreain Johnson
I'm a Christian wife and mother of three who homeschools. Although I often seem very cookie cutter and traditional in many ways, my creativity allows me to express a side of me that doesn't have to be bothered with perfection and judgment.
