The Life of a Lily Pad

You might be a lily pad too

The Life of a Lily Pad

Spores dispersed freely into the air

Moved by winds and waves

and gusts of air

*

I follow my travels -

and exploration had been tiring

But there must continue conspiring -

Diving through the paths and taking deep breaths

To find a place where I can sit

And finally, take a long rest

*

Spores dispersed on the surface of the water

I look and say “Home sweet home”

I finally found a place

Where hopefully one day I grow to be strong in its embrace

*

Sprout, blossom, and bloom

I am beautiful and green

And I was meant to be seen

But the truth is, the best part - is right underneath me

For I am still connected to that thing that once birthed me

*

The support system of stems

Keeping me grounded and keeping me safe

For what lays on the surface - might be defaced

*

For I am now a Lily pad and I am full of embody and grace

And you must see that life is full of travel and finding your place
