When life draws to its final close,
And death creeps in like evening's prose,
The heart grows still, the breath slows down,
As one prepares to leave this town.
The memories that we hold so dear,
Will fade away as we draw near,
To that great mystery, the great unknown,
Where life and death become as one.
And as we take our final breath,
We bid farewell to life and death,
For in that moment, all is still,
And we surrender to life's will.
But as we pass into the night,
We leave behind a shining light,
A legacy of love and grace,
That time and death cannot erase.
So let us cherish every day,
And live our lives in every way,
For in the end, when all is said,
It's love that truly conquers death.
