The vastness of this fertile land
Encroached upon by foreign man
Barbed wire stitched upon demand
I search within to understand
.
Open prairies and plains embraced
Civil rights destroyed erased
Treaties formed are poison laced
Villages burnt and then defaced
.
Whispers of the elements
Fear of marching regiments
A loss for true felt sentiments
We’re looked upon as dissident
.
Extorted for the contraband
Intrusion from a distant land
Greed and malice widely spanned
It’s time to rise and take a stand
.
Battles waged pillaged and plundered
Oppression felt like sounds of thunder
Emotionally stripped and left to wonder
The evilness of that from under
.
How this wrath unleashed descended
Hopes and dreams destroyed upended
Religious thoughts enforced amended
Our way of life diffused suspended
.
A hundred years to wipe the tears
Government that fuels our fears
We gaze upon these old frontiers
The world we knew has disappeared
.
Taxation of our land now spent
Concrete tents of ill contempt
Breeding pure and true resent
Our strength reduced to 2 percent
.
Conquest gained through devastation
Driven by this annexation
Our people facing obliteration
Numbness now prevents sensation
.
Rituals banned of chants and dance
History speaks as if romance
Our future seized with no advance
Soliciting games of risk and chance
.
Slots and Bingo are no solution
A federal form of restitution
They seek a shred of absolution
But merely its just prostitution

Heartbreakingly true. Thank you for your nice comment on my story. That one was a bit of a publishing mistake on my part. I rewrote and retitled the longer version "Deep Dark Secrets" if you are interested in a longer version of the same story. Thanks For sharing your work. It's beautiful.
