halls of vapor formed
Once, I sat atop a mountain
And looked across a vale,
Followed turns along a river
That weaved a windy trail.
~
Soon, I gazed upon an ocean
That fell away from sight
And touched upon another land;
My vision took to flight.
~
I soared the surface of the clouds,
Their moisture on my face,
And entered halls of vapor formed
That towered into space.
~
In space, I knew the timelessness
We call infinity;
And turning ‘round, I saw myself
Across the stellar sea.
~
And in that speck were other worlds
And wonders to behold;
Within myself, I found a path
Of distances untold.
