The Collections Poems (2)
The Second Collection of Poems.
(Kingdoms of Old) /Orthonian Classic/
Swords shall chip, knights shall fall
And walls will break back into stones.
Kings grow old and wither away
And build a new land on these ancient bones.
Kingdoms.
(Winter Is Coming) /Orthonian Classic/
Through the frosted pane on the cabin’s side
Creatures of the wood are beginning to hide.
Leaves turn sour and begin to fall
Traitors of the summer trees tall.
Winter.
(Melting Away) /Dikourian Classic/
The snowflake is an icy unique ---
Rare beauty trapped inside time.
Crystal arms grasp for life
Only to be melted soon…
(Dreaded Frost) /Dikourian Classic/
Dreaded frost cuts your face
Chilling you to the bones
Marrow freezes, blood is solid
Flesh turns purple under expensive furs
Nothing stops it, Ur’s cold breath
The sun is useless against this onslaught
You’ll find warmth with the cows, the hens and dogs
Live honourable and freeze, traitorous and alive
Your breath is like the geysers of steam from Ekron
It warms you, and you’ll feel bliss
Your eyes burn from the cold brilliance
and tears stream down your cheek
The onlything than can warm your mind
is that spring is surly on the way...
(The Weevil People)
Normal bodies, and misshapen heads
Whispering to kids with stolen voices.
You will come out, then they’ll pounce
It’s the Weevil People!
Run.
(These poems are inspired by the stories inside of my books that I’m currently writing, and their different takes on culture and poetry. Three of the poems are winter related, inspired by my strong dislike of the season (You have never seen winter until you’ve seen a Saskatchewan winter, snow 10 feet deep, - 40 degree wind gusts, and a landscape so bright it burns your eyes). The last poem was inspired by a recent post by Veronica Coldiron; titled “The Time of Our Lives”. I hoped you enjoyed these poems (Which most of them were done in an iatdouziac style).
