That Woman

A Poem

By Aria LiskPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

That Woman

She laughs alongside her demons

Not much could startle her soul

Forged by the fire of hell she has lived through

Iron sits heavy inside her chest

Oh, she lost her heart a long time ago

But my God that woman is alive

She doesn’t walk on air

Isn’t made of bubbles and joy

Her smile holds secrets

And her eyes are yellow with fire

She walks like the dirt of this earth simply begs for her feet upon it

Wind trails her every step

A storm willing to destroy what stands in her way

She doesn't feel the rain as it slides down her skin

For the clouds are her creation

Her touch could chill even the warmest of souls

She gives no story

Offers not a hint of who she is

But my God that woman is alive
