What might have been

Thank You…

A passion, all consuming.

A fire, unquenchable.

A lust, insatiable.

A love, transforming.

We could have been

The kind of encounter that changes

But I’m glad we did not,

I’m glad we were not,

By passion,

By desire,

By lust.

I was never meant

For you,

Nor you

For me.

At least this way,

We have a pure moment.

A memory of joy,

Not tainted.

A smile,

Not besmirched.

I would rather carry

That memory,

Than regret.

Thank you,

For your smile.

Thank you,

For your kindness.

Thank you,

For that memory.

Thank you,

For that moment.
