Love And Devastation

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

I’ve learned the hard way that love equals pain. Nothing is real without piercing the skin

Your smoke ring, like love, dissipates like burnt paper. The scent hangs around, a vale of poisonous vapor

Your promises leave a bad taste in my mouth, burning my lips filling my heart with doubt

I can see the damage, yet I can’t seem to stop. A bad habit I am not willing to drop

If I would listen to my heart, I might undo the damage, quit this addiction to you and finally be salvaged
