surreal poetry
Surrealist poetry embodies the essence of poetry itself, drawing upon shocking imagery and lyrical incongruities to comment on the inner-workings of the mind.
Beyond the Veil of Time
In realms unknown, where spirits roam, A realm of wonders, our true home. The afterlife, a timeless space, Where souls find solace, embrace. Beyond the veil of earthly sight, A realm aglow with ethereal light. Infinite horizons, dreams unfurl, Where the essence transcends the material swirl. Departing from this mortal shore, A journey to the forevermore. The body's vessel may decay, But souls abide in a cosmic ballet. Through starlit skies, they soar above, Boundless realms of cosmic love. In a tapestry of celestial art, Eternal spirits find a fresh start. The earthly burdens, left behind, In afterlife, release they find. The heart finds solace, free from strife, As souls embrace a new-found life. Amidst the vastness of the skies, Eternal echoes gently rise. Connecting us to those we've known, A bond unbroken, eternally sewn. In the afterlife, all truths unfold, The mysteries of life are told. A symphony of souls entwine, In cosmic dance, a love divine. For those who journey to this place, An ethereal glow upon their face. Infinite peace, a timeless kiss, An afterlife of boundless bliss. Though earthly life may have an end, Beyond the veil, souls still ascend. Through love and grace, forever blessed, In the afterlife, they find their rest.

Temptations of the Flame. Content Warning.
In shadows cast, by passions fueled, Lust's flame ignites, where hearts are ruled. A primal dance, a whispered breath, Desire's grip, the soul bereft. In tangled limbs, the senses soar, A symphony of yearning's roar. Fingers trace forbidden trails, As ecstasy the heart unveils. But oh, the perilous allure, A thirst unquenched, a soul unsure. For lust, a fleeting, fiery blaze, In its embrace, the heart betrays. With hasty steps, it leads astray, The mind ensnared in passion's sway. Yet passion's blaze, it fades in time, Leaving emptiness to climb. In shadows cast, regrets may bloom, As longings fade, like waning moons. Seek love's embrace, pure and true, For in its depths, a life anew. Let not the sirens' whispers blind, To deeper truths that love may find. In love's embrace, the soul shall thrive, With lust transcended, hearts arrive.

Airports
There are places that don't really exist, but where you can be for a time. I have spent hours, days in preternatural space, alone in limbo under fluorescent lights with $8 bottles of water. The removal of shoes and belts, constant checking of the looming time boards, nervous switching from phone to book to podcast, pissing every 20 minutes; pre-flight rituals performed in a sterile place where you make no memories and remember no faces.
