surreal poetry
Surrealist poetry embodies the essence of poetry itself, drawing upon shocking imagery and lyrical incongruities to comment on the inner-workings of the mind.
Write Like I Know What Happens Next
Sometimes, you are going to be 27, and you feel like you have to relearn everything. Today, I am learning how to write like I know what happens next. But first, I must master putting pen to page like a lover caresses your hair, or at least how we always want them to. I cannot fear failure because in the chase for perfection, I lose sight of importance and care.

Thunder
We’re all under thunder How do we we overcome The wicked herald cracks out the whip of the ever dreaded blackened thumbDon’t waste the time behind the clouds and lightning bolts Enough time has passed Who are you trying to impress with those?Under thunder Long wind and plunderThe battles around Swirling tornados In heartfelt wonderWe’re all under thunder The storm brewing Slowing and swirling Where will you run for coverDon’t get wet Try not yet But don’t let go when we’re all under thunderUnder thunder Blinding Lightning Why do we do thisStrive for the top shiny tulips The Sunday The weekdaysWe’re all under thunderIt’s not time to break for lunch yetDon’t tell him you heard itAround and around the tree and gardenHeaven knows that the storm is Guarding Barking up the wrong treeI’m failing to see the misery In the melody This mirror doesn’t reflect meThunder Crash Crushing weight The thunderstorm falls heavily The weights are no longer on meUnder thunder Have you danced in the rain while the drums DrumDrum The thunder to the rhythm Splash Jump The puddles will turn into lakesWe’re under thunder Dance or run for cover The choice will Show the storm who knowsWe’re all under thunder
