Take Pleasure In America
Introduction This is for Lana V Lynx's "Raise a Glass to America" Challenge, which you can check out here. The music is a wonderful medley by Spirit of "Tampa Jam" "America The Beautiful", and "The Times They Are A-Changing". I love Randy California's (sadly missed) ethereal voice, though his father-in-law's (Ed Cassidy/Jack Bond) is a bit fierce on the first piece.

I Still Love the Fourth
We shook off tyranny and stood as one, Declaring each soul on “our” land was free, And blood was spilled until the cause was won To claim this piece of Earth for you and me. Right or wrong, we've fought to maintain hold Shrugged off our heroes' bloody, final stand And came back with a countenance so bold, To allow our southern border to expand. We braved the “bombs that burst in air” to keep Our banner flying over freedom's lands. The sight and sound of war embedded deep And honored covering our hearts with hands. Tonight, neighbors will burst bombs o'er our town In an attempt to burn our houses down. *** I know there are those who won't appreciate my stand on this. Here's the thing: starting about 10PM last night, our neighbors launched barrage after barrage of stadium-size mortars over our houses. Fireworks are strictly prohibited by law within our city limits, except in the stadium celebrations that have emergency crews on hand. In addition to the fire danger, our dogs were terrorized to the point that they wouldn't go out to relieve themselves, and didn't until this morning. Yes, it will happen again tonight, with a vengance. There will be too many for law enforcement to deal with, so they will only dispatch where there is damage done. I dare anyone to challenge our patriotism. This is about common sense and public safety. Thanks for reading!

Smoke from the Ancestors 🔥💨
In the cloudy puff, I see a path back — back, back, back — back into the eons. The swirling smoke for the people was seen as a bridge between our world and the spirit world. And the smoke remains for us a bridge to those people. The ancestors.
