Not so Fast

Not so fast... the moon is tying up the night,
while clocks grow wings and scatter through the blue;
the roads are melting underneath the light,
and yesterday is running after you.

Not so fast... the stars have missed their train,
the morning wears a shadow for a shoe;
the wind is pouring backwards into rain,
and time has lost the map it once knew.

Let moments crawl like flowers through the ground,
let seconds sleep beneath the breathing sky;
some doors will open only when you're found,
some dreams must learn to walk before they fly.

Not so fast... let life unfold its strange design;
the river knows the ocean in its time.
