Choose the Sky
[Verse 1] You keep a map folded in your coat With every safe road crossed in red The compass needle shakes its head You laugh and choose the dark instead [Pre-Chorus] There’s a seam in every careful plan A little room where we can slip [Chorus] Let’s leave the circle we were given Let the blue turn strange and wide If we come apart, we come apart With our own hands on the tide No borrowed route, no promised landing Just the nerve to choose the sky [Verse 2] You set your watch beside the door And let the seconds lose their claim We take the names we used to wear And trade them for a little flame [Pre-Chorus] There’s a seam in every careful plan A little room where we can slip [Chorus] Let’s leave the circle we were given Let the blue turn strange and wide If we come apart, we come apart With our own hands on the tide No borrowed route, no promised landing Just the nerve to choose the sky [Bridge] Not fearless, no Just done with standing still A match held in the open air A choice that’s ours to make [Final Chorus] Let’s leave the circle we were given Let the blue turn strange and wide If we come apart, we come apart With our own hands on the tide No borrowed route, no promised landing We choose the risk, we choose the sky [Outro] We choose the sky We choose the sky

Goodness Optional
[Verse 1] You said love was a table Where every heart could sit But you keep moving the chairs around When the truth won’t quite fit I learned to weigh my words out And soften every no While you called mercy weakness And kindness something owed [Chorus] If compassion’s just an option If forgiveness comes and goes If respect depends on what you want And grace is yours to close Then I know where I stand now Though it hurts to understand When you make goodness optional You make me optional in your hands [Verse 2] I won’t ask you for perfection I’ve had my share of wrong But a home should hold some shelter When the hard days linger long And God was never meant to be A name we use to win The gentlest thing a heart can do Is let another in [Chorus] If compassion’s just an option If forgiveness comes and goes If respect depends on what you want And grace is yours to close Then I know where I stand now Though it hurts to understand When you make goodness optional You make me optional in your hands [Bridge] I can leave without a war cry I can bless you as I go Love should never need permission To be decent, kind, and whole [Final Chorus] I need compassion as a promise Forgiveness freely shown Respect that doesn’t disappear When we disagree at home I know where I stand now And I’ll choose with open hands When you make goodness optional I won’t stay optional in your plans [Outro] I’ll keep the good you taught me And let the rest fall where it lands

Suspense
[Verse] Clock ticks slow but my mind won't race Papers stack high in this hollow place Shadows stretch long in the afternoon light But I’ll get there yeah I’ll make it right [Verse 2] To-do lists scream but I hush their call One more coffee leaning on the wall The weight of tomorrow it don’t scare me none I’m just building suspense till the work gets done [Chorus] I’m not running away just holding my ground Let the tension rise let it wrap around When I finally move it'll all make sense I'm just taking my time building suspense [Verse 3] Dust gathers thick on the things I ignore I’ll sweep it clean when I walk through that door The pressure’s a storm but I’m calm in its eye The fire will come but I’ll never fry [Bridge] It’s not delay it’s a grand design A masterful stroke on this canvas of mine Closure comes with a bang not a whimper or plea Just wait till the world finally sees me [Chorus] I’m not running away just holding my ground Let the tension rise let it wrap around When I finally move it'll all make sense I'm just taking my time building suspense
