Collier's Junior Classics
A shelf of my own Among Mom's vast collection Adventures within *** I don't know how many readers will be old enough to remember these books. Collier's Encyclopedia was one of the prized collections in my mother's extensive library. The Junior Classics were a "bonus gift" that the salesperson could offer to close the sale. (Encyclopedias were expensive enough then to come with a payment plan and sometimes a subscription plan that allowed you to purchase one volume at a time.)

Why do I hate weekends?
You may have other reasons for disliking weekends, but here are some reasons why I believe people despise weekends: Completing tasks: this one is always a tough one. At work or school, you at least have the excuse of fatigue to avoid doing tasks. On the weekend, you're stuck with them. Whether it's vacuuming, washing dishes, dusting, or any other task, it's going to be monotonous. Better complete them quickly, haha.

Lord of the Rings Triology
Since I published one on "Twilight" (one of our son's favorite series, both in written & video form), I guess I might as well share the one I wrote as a comment on Paul's (I think) haiku review of "Lord of the Rings". This one is perhaps a bit more serious & relates to one of the more important themes Tolkien wanted to stress, but typically gets short shrift & underplayed. The vital spiritual & ethical importance of not killing Golem but actually caring for him, protecting him, attempting to help him, & allowing him to tag along.
