Surfacing

A Reversible Poem

By Sarah MasseyPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

The shadow that floods the currents below the surface

Will drown by the hand of the waves

The light that penetrates the murky rapids

For the darkness to succeed

There is no hope

It is greater than I

Into the depths

Hope has gone

The despair of darkness

Will crush

The hope of light

The fear flowing whirlpool

Just out of reach from

The sparkling surface wakes

Start again, from the bottom.

It’s where we all begin.
