Summer's End

The Globe goes around the sun seven times

I’ve waited for the planets to align

I’ve counted every word you borrowed from mine

But since you left, I’ve got nothing to say, nowhere to go, no music to play

I deserve to be alone

I’ve waited for you to come home

Though it’s been years since that place where the love was grown

And since your hair was sewn out of that robin’s nest and you set off on your own quest

I’m glad you found the one under the sun at summer’s end

I’m glad your heart decided not to break but bend.
