String Theory
For all the people we weave a deep connection with.
When I pass the string to you
I can feel you thread it through
Pull it snug across the miles
Feel it hum with warmth and smiles
Pass it back, no hesitation
No quid pro quo or expectation
+
On some days our web feels long
But always real, living, strong
Knots sunk deep under my skin
I don’t mind they’re so deep in
Like a junkie’s needle track
I make a loop and pass it back
+
On some days, when you feel far
I feel it pull, admire each scar
Each knot and bump and vibrant thread
That grows, sinks deep, and lives to spread
A happy cancer, a spectral tree
This tapestry you wove in me

What a beautiful thought/thread
Lovely!!! Loving it!!!
This is so captivating to read, each line flowing so beautifully
This is a nifty metaphor!!! And it feels familiar.. maybe I read it before via FB and wasn’t logged on to vocal or something.. I can’t remember, but liking it NOW! 😊
Well now... the mumbler has been rendered a little mumbleless! Stunning work... love the offbeat feel to it, the rhymes and overall message!
This is excellent! It's clever and flows really well. I enjoyed it!
Well done. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Excellently woven poem! Oh to love...
This is great, made me think of the excruciating and absolute bond we have with our kids as well.
This was such a deep, thought provoking and interesting piece! This was an intriguing but dark and twisty kind of piece, I really enjoyed it! Great work L.C.
You have a wonderful way with words. Loved it.
