I heard there was a time and place
A moment’s grace within life’s race
Where hope eternal springs anew
As early morning brings the dew
Caught in ice or sunlight’s beam
A minute when the soul can dream
Omens scribed within a flower
Waves that shake the shore with power
Secrets witnessed in birds’ flight
Or the creeping smudge of dusk’s grey light
When nature whispers in your ear
A healing chant and bids you near
To contemplate the flight of bees
Or the way the trees move in the breeze
To quiet the soul within the breast
To give the spirit pause and rest
Balance restored, no thirst to roam
In these stolen moments, I have come home.
