If one road

didn't end

on doorstep of your love,

if tide didn't bring heart,

the one you loved

above it all,

a prayer

to be yours

in ever after island,

I wished,

couldn't turn back,

I wanted to hear song,

but it was quiet,

yet not dark,

I stepped on in twilight,

waiting to chase

that melody

of heart to heart

unfold.

***

A dream that turned to ash,

rain falling on each smile,

one wave crashing to steel,

forgiveness asked,

withheld,

then given back.

***

How can I find your soul

if heart won't sing beneath the fog,

where does love perch

above sun sill,

can I still long

for morning steps,

the dew

turned into rainbows,

and your hug,

forest becoming

sun home,

and the sea

comes closer

in each word.

***

I am at peace

soul tide

has come to take

all hurt

let spirit free.
