Sometimes, Just Sometimes

Meeting in the wrong place at the wrong time

Sometimes, just sometimes

The reason you stumble

Upon a fellow human

Is a bit more messy than sublime

Meetings occur incidentally

Particles drawn to each other

Like water needs the shore

Two heartbeats interacting momentarily

Only waves come and go

Never intended to stay for long

As blissful and right as they show

They carry weights too heavy to let go

Still, on a daily basis

We partake in this scheme

Attaching to and abandoning beings

Once determining our dreams

Whether it’s fate, a glitch

Or some random timing

Assembling recognition

Between two souls in yearning

Beyond their own perspective

Or the barriers they perceived

Sometimes, just sometimes

A finite connection illuminates eternity.
