Something about Summer

there was a smile that could light up the room and make a rainy day feel like the very first day of spring.

There was a walk that said “yes I’m here and there’s nothing you can do about it.”

A sassy attitude that made every meal just a pinch more enjoyable. Adding sprinkles of flavor to everyone’s taste buds just by existing near the table.

A sweet melodious song that slipped through the lips of an angel and eased the human soul.

Everyday was the best because Summer was there.

She embodied the very definition of grace and beauty and she made the world feel warm.

All of her efforts to make a person happy came so natural and only God could have designed a person so rare.

She walked with pride and spoke with certainty. Her voice carried the weight of history but softened the rough edges and made them smooth like butter.

Her skin like mango melanin, soft and supple. Dark and illuminating. The sun loves every drop of her essence and helps it flourish when she stands underneath the sky.

Her eyes like pools of chocolate submergingnyou into a world untouched by human hands.

There are no wars near her. There is no race where she comes from. Men and women are equal. She stands up for everyone and believes in all aspects of humanity and life.

Her songs sing praise to God and wash happiness over her every word. Her mouth opens up to save the innocent from danger and deter the wicked away from the defenseless.

She fights for herself and wins every battle. She fights for our sake and also wins every battle. Her soul whispers through the wind and she needs not speak to be heard.

Yellow looks fantastic on her and so does every other color. But more often than not she needs of radiance.

I am just babbling but I believe every word. There’s just something about that girl. That smile that soul. That heart. That power. That confidently dark brown girl that lives under the sun.

That warm embracing woman that flourishes in everything she does.
