Sleep, she eludes me

Maybe this is my fate; restlessness

This isn’t me lying wide awake

Pushing back those thoughts that creep in the shadow of the night

I’m all by myself you see and

Sleep, she eludes me

Oh sleep, find me now

Save me the misery of walking down

This lonely path; regrets and mistakes

They suck down on me

Drain the life out of me

I would like to rest now

Close my eyes and dream

And even if it’s just for a moment

I want to imagine a different day

A different time

Another place, where I was free

No pain, far from the feelings of regret

I’m closing my eyes now, can you hear me?

Give me peace

Give me quiet

I’ll take solace

I’ll take rest

Let me sleep, please

Push it all back

Take a deep breath

And close my eyes

I’d like to rest now

I’ve been wandering for too long

Might just be for a minute

But I’ll take it

Stay with me

Be my company for tonight

I’ll stay true

And close my eyes

Say you’ll stay 😥😥
