She gazes up to see a shining star
Suddenly falling down to earth,
She places a wish on this falling star
For all her life is worth.
***
She wishes for things to be better
Better than they have been today,
She wishes you hadn’t been so cruel
And instead of leaving, stayed.
***
She wishes things could still be
As good as they once were,
She wishes your love
Was not so hurtful to her.
***
She wishes for the return of happiness
To wash away all the pain and sorrow,
She wishes for a small ray of hope
To see better days tomorrow.
***
I know what she is wishing
As they are my wishes too,
But not a single wish of ours
Is yet to come true.

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.
