She
Dances in sunlight, like no one watches

She twists, about
Examining the light as it bounces
Across bare face, bare chest, bare limbs;
Her pupils bounce, like so
Admiring these things
Reflected back at her
She leans close
Peering with resolute eyes
As though to collect the evidence of
Large pores,
Indigo under-eyes,
And feathered hair, across tender arms
And legs alike
At last
She leans away,
Only, Satisfied
Because the echoes of Judgement
And Vindiction
And Shame
Are no longer packed into her mind's hollows
Of which were kept bare for Approval, Acceptance
She smiles
Appraising this woman
For perhaps the first time
And, oh yes, she is in love!
