She loves me, she loves me not!

Yes... another Christmas decoration!

Mia cat, keeping watch.

She loves me...

Cheerfully assembling the Christmas tree

branch by branch... each one artfully outstretched.

She loves me not...

Languorous carols wafting in the air.

She loves me...

Aussie, Colin Buchanan's "Merry Merry Christmas" pumpin'

Has me jumpin'!

She loves me not...

Tediously winding twinkling fairy lights in a downward spiral.

She loves me...

Another upbeat song by Colin... "Glory to God in the Highest".

She loves me not...

Tangled, tinsel tries to overwhelm the tree..

She loves me...

10 wooden decorations: angels; Love; Joy; Peace; Light and Wonder.

She loves me not...

Time worn Sunday School crafted pom pom 'Wise Men'...

minus their tiny placards: "Jesus is born! Christ is King! Joy to the World!"

She loves me...

7 shining baubles... twirling pristinely on tips of branches.

She loves me not...

3 unravelling, curly haired, angels with bodies made of ribbon.

She loves me...

Red and white bows; pipe cleaner bells; miniature, wooden nativity scene.

She loves me not...

What do you mean... we've run out of room?

... like Bethlehem, the night of Jesus' birth!

There's still the china mouse; candles and paint splotched pine cone to go!

She loves me..

Ah... one golden, star graces the pinnacle of the tree.

She loves me not...

What's that, lurking around the back, on the red mat?

Of course, it's Mia... our cheeky cat!

Delighted to run across this today! I have been backed up in my reading. I must share this with some of my favourite readers who love holiday mischief and cats. Very good! Cheers!

What a special way that you wrote your Christmas decorations into this poem. Absolutely beautiful.

  • Christmas Decorations are a big deal in our house too. I loved the creative way you wove this poem together. The Christmas decorations, the carols, and the tinsel. My favorite was the ending by far which reminded me of our two cats one of which ( a little terror we aptly named Honey) who I caught halfway up our fully decorated tree and had to get him down before he reaked too much havoc.

  • Awww, Mia is sooo adorable! I loved your poem!

Lovely. I miss my cats. My dogs too, but I find myself collecting cats - a photo, some paintings, tiny porcelain ones cats and a tapestry I brought home from Ecuador.
