She is the Light
Glowing, Shining, and Bright
Join me on a journey as these words transform,
A woman into an ABA rhyme, into a melodic poem.
Fierce as lightning, yet gentle as a rainstorm.
Radiating beauty like a summer sunrise
Being inside her vicinity makes the soul warm
Blooming life reflects grace from her eyes.
Embodying a fresh breath of new air
Captivated by her beauty and left in awe
One glimpse, the only option you have is to stare
Yet the story we are writing doesn't end there
She is the wish you wish on a falling star.
Her true beauty is in her heart and the way she care.
When my tears fall, they are in her palm.
She weathers with me through the stormy days
She is my foundation, solid and calm.
Her smile is the sunlight that rises from the night.
She is with me forever, now and always.
If there is a tunnel in life, she is the light.
Glowing, shining, and bright!

Spectating
I can't imagine dying like this, in a place like this; on a cold, dirty pavement with rush hour traffic screaming by and a crowd looking on while paramedics struggle to find space to move. Who could? Deep down we all think there should be a reason, a moment of clarity... or a family presence, at least. For this man, this boy, the rail thin woman lighting a cigarette in a faux fur jacket will have to do - she's been here since the start, her eyes tracking the movement of my shoulders as we fight to keep him on the right side of the line.
