She used to dream of seeing her face,

smiling from the covers she would grace.

She used to fantasize at a young age,

of being crowned at center stage.

She used to imagine lighting up that silver screen,

becoming every young man's dream.

But she doesn't want to be beautiful anymore,

for now she knows what lies in store.

She wishes that she could just hide her face,

that an ugly one could take it's place.

Take all the beauty that every body sees,

and lock it up somewhere in a deep freeze.

Trying to hide from all the thoughts she hates,

hoping that will change her fate.

No, she doesn't want to be beautiful anymore,

She wishes that she could just close that door.

She still remembers that night that changed her whole world,

she thinks if she hadn't been so kind,

he would have listened when she said no.

But all she heard was,

I must have this angel, this pretty face,

and now she's forever stuck in that place.

She doesn't want to be beautiful anymore,

for now she knows what lies in store.

She wishes that she could just hide her face,

and the person she truly is could take it's place.

Take all the beauty that everybody sees,

and show them that it doesn't mean that she goes through life with ease.

Wishes that everyone could see that she's got a heart,

and wants to be wanted for more than just the sum of her parts.

No, she doesn't want to be beautiful anymore,

she wishes she could just close that door.

Now you can see the fear in her eyes,

every time a man smiles her way.

She's got an armful of lies,

just to make them go away.

If she could find a strong heart,

with enough patience to stay,

maybe he could get her soul to mend,

and throw her fears and ugly memories away.
