Self-Love

Learning to love yourself is hard, but it's so much better than begging someone to love you.

I had to learn to love myself

Because you could never love me

And no matter how many times I begged

You could never see what I was missing

But on countless nights I slept alone

I realized what I need

And I filled the void you couldn’t

And by myself I feel complete

I know it’s just out of habit

My love you took for granted

How careless of you to cast me aside

To love me less and expect me to abide

Unfortunately for you, your borrowed time is expired

To love me is a hard act to follow

When your validation is no longer required

And I know now

That your words are empty

And your heart is hollow
