There's a scar on my heart,

for every river that I've cried.

There's a hole in my soul,

from losing you without a goodbye.

There were days where it felt like I could die,

from the pain that ate me up inside.

And nights that I thought I would drown,

in the memories of the love that left me behind.

I found a picture from a lifetime ago,

someone captured us laughing,

while we were dancing slow.

Never thought I could smile and cry at the same time,

That's when something changed inside.

The tears still come every now and then,

I can't change that you were ripped from this world,

but now I know the memories of our love will hug me until the end.
