We gave fame
To the evil,
Handed it over
With bills and front page-
Created pop culture icons
From evil faces
And held interviews
For insight and science
With little care for sales
Or so we said-
As we filmed movies
And created series
Wrote articles
And sent letters
To prison cells,
Our darkside super models
And misunderstood actors-
What a tough upbringing
They didn’t mean it
They’ve changed
But what about
The reason for fame
The reason we know
Their name and faces,
Why don’t we know theirs?
Why haven’t we seen
Their faces
Why aren’t they known
In every household
Given spots in our favorite movies,
Penned by artists
And poets,
Names listed and studied
Like they’re the reason
For our art today,
Why is it only the family
That cries and mourns
The passing of someone
Stolen by our
Created monsters.
