An eternal shining light

found me struggling in the gales,

and showed the way

through the night to this refuge.

Waiting for a lifetime

to be from the mortal coil - unchained,

and come to this comfortable haven

for placation of the bruises from battering waves.

A place where there is neither a past to mourn

nor the future to anticipate.

*

Two souls are interlaced

like the snakes of the caduceus.

Here, all wants and doubts fade away

like the night at daybreak.

Protected by this safe harbor

whether near or far,

Where joy reigns over fear,

calamity and strife disappear,

and concern for the world’s injustices flee

from this calm by the sea.
