Ride or Die

Ride or Die friends

We've all heard of them

They come into your life

They always have your back

It's the one friend

You know you can count on no matter what

They are your Ride or Die

They are there until the end

But what happens

When they ride off alone into the sunset?

What do you do?

What will fill the black hole at your core?

Maybe there's another

That can step in and take the role

But in a world of billions of people

Finding that again seems bleak

So instead you stare off in the distance

Hoping to see them again

Knowing the chances are slim

And even when you do everything has changed

So while they ride

You slowly die inside

Then it hits you

You understand the true meaning

While one rides and is happy

The other grieves alone

Left as a shell of their former self

Remembering the good times

Watching the reruns of memories

And holding on tight

Realizing that one day

You'll struggle to have even that

So it's one last ride...

One last hope...

Saying a silent prayer...

That the next ride isn't alone...
