Requiem of a Past Unknown

A Compendium of Notes Formed Through Automatic Writing: Part One

Seek and you shall find

the answers in your mind

deep within your dreams

You're running out of time

Nothing here is safe

And nothing here is real

Stand by what you know is right

and a go by what you feel

Hollow shells and chiming bells

Revolving doors

Seeking thrills

Seeing to a past that's real

Finding solace in this lonely

self-created Hell

You've made mistakes that brought you here

Your soul has been entrenched in fear

There is no time to waste, my dear

Now, hasten your grip on reality

Loose lips will sink intrinsic ships

and no one understands you

Inside your soul, you hold the key

The nameless beast who dwells within

He wears your name and bears your sins

Find the answers while you can

for your survival in this wasteland

Filled with regrets

Lost in your head

with memories and thoughts of death

that come from an extinguished past

beyond what you can comprehend

Forsaken by the sands of time

Wine and dine, lose your mind

Then climb as high as you can get

when really, you have reached the depths

of something far below us

And it's not over yet

Your blindfold has forsaken you

and stripped you of your magic

There's nothing quite as tragic as

a sinful, lust-filled addict

who waits for signs inside her mind

instead of finding peace inside

and looking for the reasons why

she never reached her destiny

You've done this all before,

time and time again

The life you're living in

Different times and separate places

and some of the same friends

But alas, always the same regrets

and the same exact bitter end

The requiem of memories

told by forces left unseen

The never-ending tragedy

of a soul trapped for centuries

But the key lies inside her mind

Behind the serpent that sets fire

to the land and to the seas,

releasing what we cannot see

The vast, the wise, the sacred

The ever-present ouroborus
