Repetitive Regimens & Reversal Remedies (Quite A Mouthful, I Know)

Change: A wind also blown from individual/collective exertion

Let’s take a moment shall we

for the answers that won’t come

due to the questions we don’t ask

That stubborn independence

peri-capsize on rough seas

rather than transmit one simple S.O.S

as if there’s heroism in hushed trajectories for oblivion

Those recalled certainties left behind

whilst falsehoods we tolerate

Poisons swiftly drunk in kind

over elixirs where we hesitate

and buy heavily into the system

at the expense of individuality

then sell that stank imbalance with

smiling faces of congenial regularity

Nourishment given away for free

as barren coffers line our soul

Oasis without

desert within

but in matters of the self—

—still undeniable control

Times of self-relegation

above self-revelation hinders self-elevation

How many more ways can it be said

Anachronistic prisoners of our own design: Facts

We, accountable arbitrators of definitive change: Lax

And as long

as we keep

going and going

without presence of mind to stop and think

we won’t evolve

only creep

slowing and showing

sentient mockery inclined to plop and stink

So link in

comprehension that

right now…is the youngest you will ever be:

Youth

What we decide must change...will change:

‘As-sure-as-the-sun-must-rise’ truth

Funnily e ought, I lost the flow when I stopped to reflect on my oasis and my desert. I have concluded I am more like a run down inner city district without and an overgrown garden rendered indecipherable within. Anyway, then the rest of the poem was about pausing, which I at least did.
