So many colors, so many causes
It's hard to take in when one really pauses
Colored ribbons make us acutely aware
That human suffering is everywhere
They remind us to hope, help and pray for a cure
For so many diseases and disorders throughout the year
Alzheimer's, cancer, lupus, AIDS and more
Each ribbon asks "What are you waiting for?"
A different color for each cause and disease
Symbols of support worn with such ease
It seems to me there's a new ribbon each day
To remind us all for whom we must pray
Don't close your heart or put your head in the sand
All these ribbons form a rainbow band
To remind us that many strands form a strong rope
And together, we are bound by passion and hope
That one day, all our ribbons will disappear
When we have found each long sought cure
